This “Jersey Shore” star has traded in a fist pump for a stomach pump.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was hospitalized in South Beach for alcohol poisoning during the filming of the second season of “Jersey Shore,” RadarOnline.com reported today.
In May, the 4-foot-9 Polizzi was so intoxicated that she needed to be carried out of “Dream,” a Miami-area nightclub, by the show’s producers.
She was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning, the celebrity website reported.
While the exact details behind what kind of treatment Polizzi received have not been disclosed, those who are treated for alcohol poisoning usually are forced to endure stomach pumping or gastric lavage, where the stomach is washed out using a saline solution.
According to a source, the booze-fueled hospital visit reportedly had Snooki down for the count.
“Snooki was out of commission for about two days and was left in pain after undergoing the hospital treatment,” a source told RadarOnline.
The incident, which was not aired during this past week’s episode of “Jersey Shore,” was kept under wraps by those involved with the show, but the cast reportedly calls it “Fight Night,” referencing a fight between a Florida woman and cast member Samantha “Sammi Sweetheart” Giancola.
Polizzi seems to be no stranger to alcohol-related incidents as this newly-revealed episode comes on the heels of a court appearance stemming from a July 29th arrest where Polizzi was cited for being drunk in public and being a “public nuisance.”
Following her arrest and subsequent court appearance, Polizzi has vowed to tone down her drinking.
“It definitely embarrassed my family and that’s just not good… My dad was very, very pissed. He’s like, ‘I didn’t raise you like this.’ Now when I go out, I only have a couple drinks. I learned that I need to calm down with drinking.” Polizzi said.
Neither MTV nor Polizzi’s rep would comment on the incident.
